New Stroke Awards - you can nominate someone

The Irish Heart Foundation is holding its first Stroke Awards in partnership with Novartis this year.

These awards will formally recognise the strength and courage of stroke survivors and their carers through a Stroke Awards ceremony in Dublin.

If you know anyone who has shown exceptional courage after surviving a stroke, or has gone above and beyond the call of duty in caring for someone affected by the disease, you can nominate them.

To make a nomination visit www.stroke.ie, you will find an online nomination form in the Stroke Awards section.

The closing date for nomination is Friday, October 29th, 2010, which is World Stroke Day

You can nominate someone in these categories:
1) Children and Young People's Bravery Award
2) Adult Bravery Awards (30-64)
3) Adult Bravery Awards (65+)
4) Carer's Award
5) Stroke support group Award
6) Novartis Stroke Champion Award - this category is open to anyone you feel has gone above and beyond - whether it's in the job or by campaigning on behalf of stroke patients, the Irish Heart Foundation would like to hear from you.
