Catwalk success for MICC Transition Year students
9 Mar 2011
On Thursday the 3rd of February Maria Immaculata Community College (MICC) had a joyous night as their Transition Year Mini-Company 'Fashion Way' held their fashion show in aid of Headway. The fashion show was part of a project all of the Transition Year students take part in called their "Mini-Company". Ten students organised the show which raised a fantastic €1,700.
The students decided to 'Keep it Local' and involved local shops from Dunmanway such as Crowley's, K-Wear, Illusions and also a Bantry boutique- Sola. Both teachers and students modelled on the night and all who attended immensely enjoyed the entertainment on the catwalk.
The group would like to sincerely thank the teachers and students involved in the preparation and setting up on the night. They would also like to thank Mr Andrew Healy, SuperValu and company mentor and the shops and local businesses in Dunmanway who helped so much with their kind donations and sponsorship. Special thanks go to Mary Fitzgerald, Hairdresser, and Anita Deasy, Beautician, who very kindly offered their services on the night to ensure that all models looked very glamorous indeed! Finally a big thank you all those who bought the tickets and attended as the night would not have been such a success without their great support!
