Spreading Brain Injury Awareness with a Smile
26 Jun 2012
Headway's Aoife Dwyer recently entered the Rose of Tralee contest in a bid to become the Cork Rose. With the full backing of Headway service users and staff, Aoife did everyone proud in the contest. She says about her experience:
"Representing Headway in the Cork Rose Selection this year was truly an honour for me. The support that I received from staff and clients was overwhelming and greatly added to what has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. My nerves quickly disappeared after I met the other girls back in April and since then I have enjoyed every moment; from the trip to Tralee, a day at the Mallow races, an evening at the dog track and a jam-packed mystery tour right through to the final selection weekend mid-June. I feel very lucky to be taking away fantastic memories, new friendships, and can only hope that I have raised greater awareness about Headway and the work that we do."
Thanks to Aofie for helping to spread awareness about Headway and Brain injury and for representing us so well!
